TIRE QUESTION

What is the best tire for grip on the road and the dirt. Im might need to go downa dirt road occasionally and sometimes with stock tires I barely have grip on the street so any suggestions here guys?

And if there isnt anything like the above what the best pure street tire one that has good traction and will last me a while I think i remember reading SPORT DEMONS???? on a forums ages ago.

Thanks everyone really appreciate some help here.

RE: TIRE QUESTION

if you go to ninja250.org and then navigate to the FAQ page, there is a fair rundown on tires that are made in sizes that will fit on the ex250. From all of the opinions that I have read there seems to be 3 choices for tires.

1. Pirelli Sport Demons
2. Pirelli MT75's
3. Dunlop GT501's

hope this helps!

Sounds like you need a dual purpose bike.

the best street tire will be the worst for the dirt and vice verse.

There are at least 12 good tiresin the FAQ inaddition there are several other mediocre tires. As far as dirt its more about skill than tire design. You need to focus on keeping it upright and no abrubt meneuvers. Most dump the bike braking in gravel the same applies for soft dirt and sand. A firm dirt road really isnt too bad but in a turn a lean can cause the tire to slide out. With experience you can hit dirt roads easily but be careful.

With this all being said, comparing the tread the Metzler Lazertec has the most detail and would help in the dirt and rain. The sport demons are pretty smooth.
