Thumbs up New here get my Ninja in a week!

So I finally took the leap into the bike world.I put my downpayment down on my brand new 08 ninja (blue) today and I pick it up in a week!!This will be my first bike, although I did have a dirtbike for a year.I assume its a much different world but Im very confident on getting on the bike.

Was wondering if you guys had any good advice for a new inexperienced rider anything would help! Thanks!!

Take the MSF course and try not to get run over by a cage.

It's currently 20.00 in Ohio, wow 250.00. I feel like I stole the course now.

ride within your comfort zone and dont listen to the guys out there talk about chicken strips on your tires they will come off with time as you grow to be more confident and refine your skills

The course is a must. I have the same bike as you do and I'm a new rider as well. It's a great bike to start on. So light and easy to control. And it's a blast to ride.

Just remember that when you're riding, know that most of the people you're sharing the road with want to kill you! Ok it's not that bad but they're out there... especially the teenagers that can't seem to stop texting their friends while driving.

I have a dealer I visited about 56 miles from myself and talked about what a new 2009 Kawasaki Ninja 250R would run me. He said if I grab it this winter (which is when I plan to get it anyway) when the prices are down, he'll take 20% more off the bike and any/all gear I get in the future from him. Sound good to anyone?

Thanks for all the advice.I seemed to be having problems logging in Im good now though!Took it out for the first time today and it feels great being on the road.Although Im still breaking in the engine so I cant go past 4000rpms..which comes out to be 35mph 300 more miles to go till the book says its ok to take it to 6000.

Got my bike for $3600 basically brand new (215 miles). Its an 08 but you might wanna look on craigslist for a deal.Took me 2 months before I found this one but I do occassionally see ninjas(08-09) on there.I didnt really check out the 09's...much difference?
