Maintenance Manual
I know for cars theres chiltons and haynes manuals walking you through basically everything youd need to work on mechanically and Im wondering are there any manuals like that for kawasaki ninja 250s?

RE: Maintenance Manual
I believe the only one available for the 250 is the factory shop manual. You would have to get it through the dealer, or online somewhere.

RE: Maintenance Manual
OK, I already have that but i didnt know if there was anything else. Do you know of just a basic book to get aquainted with how a motorcycle is setup. I understand cars but id like a little more info on motorcycles. I know its still an internal combustion engine so its all the same but in diff places but more specific to the transmission and drivetrain along with the suspension.

RE: Maintenance Manual
This is a good book for general motorcycle maintenance
Motorcycles: Fundamentals, Service, and Repair by Bruce A. Johns, David D. Edmundson, Robert Scharff, Robert Scharff, David D. Edmundson It should help use the factory manualS >> there are 2 you need the base 86-87 and the supplement 88-current.<< You can not get by with just one unless you have a 86-87 because half the info is in one and some is in the other and some specs are listed in the base but changed in the newer years I almost got myself into trouble because I forgot to check the supplement and they changed an important spec. The factory manuals expect that you know about wrenching on a bike so the book should help explain some things. Its a shame there isnt an after market repair manual, I have the Haynes manual for my Katana it explains things quite well. I plan on getting the factory manual as well because I dont always trust aftermarket manuals to have the specs correct so far so good though. -Marcie |
RE: Maintenance Manual
If you are serious about your ride, get the factory manual. So much better from what I have seen.
