Im 19 andjust got my motorcycle learners permit a couple of days ago and am wondering if i should get the kawasaki 250r or the 500r. I have never really even drove dirt bikes. I'm thinking the 250r to learn then upgrade to a bigger bike later. btw i'm 5'11" and abotu 180lbs.

 

It all depends man. If you want a little more torque for riding around town and a bit more stability on the highway then go with the 500r. If u want power in the 7k and up range and lighter in the turns then go with the 250r. I got a 07 250r for my first bike and have had it about 1 1/2 years and i love it still. Was quite easy and forgiving to learn on, but then I again I doubt the 500 would be much different being that they are on the same frame with a few differences in the suspension and more power. Now if ur lookin at the new 2008 250r, thats a personal taste thing as far as looks. Good luck.
