I have been thinking of one...but I dont even own a Ninja (yet) so I have to wait. Why doesn't someone pull the pistons out of one, mill the top down and/or throw on a thicker or multiple head gaskets(to lower compression) and throw a turbo on that bad boy?

Why bother? It would make more sense to just buy a 600.

Im waiting for a small turbo I can get for free. Me and a mechanic at work will make it work on the bike.
I don't even care if it blows the engine it would be a cool project just for the heck of it.

yea it would make more sense to just get a bigger bike... though it would be cool to see how the power of a turbo would feel on a bike that light

Just to say you did it. For the fun. You can have a 636 (my favorite bike) and a TURBO 250R...
No who could say, yea, I have a TURBOCHARGED Kawasaki 250R? You'd be the first...

You might be able to get away with around 5psi without doing any work to the head or pistons. Much more than that may wreck the bottom end, or head gasket without lowering compression.

I'm no engineer, so I can't really imagine a nice clean way of doing a turboinstall on an engine with exaust in front andintake around back. The turbo would pretty much have to be on the front of the engine to prevent lag, which leaves you to figure out a way to filter the intake air androute it around to the back.

If you have money and time, it could be a fun engineering project.

OK. When you get yours done, please post results. Would love to hear about it.
