250R Coolant Leak from Coolant Pump.

A 1cm hole is the cause of and possible solution to all my problems. It seems that I am leaking coolant from a very small hole which the manufacturers placed in the back of the coolant pump. Now as for the purpose of this hole, besides to leak coolant, I cannot determine. If it serves no purpose I figure I might as well plug it and just move on. The service manual doesn't seem to mention it. So what is it? What is it's purpose? Solutions?

It's called a seep hole. The only purpose of the seep hole is to tell you the water pump seal went bad. Do not try and plug it. You need to replace the water pump.

Most cars have the same weep hole feature. So replace the pump!
