The dealer downhere in LA told me that itz still in production and there's like five people on the waiting list already. They might have 'em in approximately Feb or March.

I have put a $50 deposit on one at a local dealer. I will be getting the very first Green 08' 250Rthat comes in. They have a couple other deposits on Black. They tell me they should arrive in January. I can't wait.

Wasting is kinda harsh hick. Like me wasting money for a 92cc RS for my daughter. (working on it) But it is all dependant on that individuals needs. To me buying a ride to meet those needs does not mean it is a waste. I cannot say that a properly set up 250 (less available aftermarket parts) will outdo a 6 by no means on the track, but it would be a fun try. To me, that is what brings out the fun in motorcycling.

Wasting money on one? What the hell do you mean? Have you even seen one? Chances are you haven't since they are not at the dealer yet. I did see one at the Seattle Motorcycle Show last month. I think they are nice. I am new to riding. I have a Honda Silverwing I got last year but I am selling it and starting on a new 08 Ninja 250R. Should I be starting a ZX6R or ZX10R or maybe I should just get a ZX14 to learn on. You should not be on this Ninja 250 forum if you think they are a waste of money.

It's a lot more fun to ride a 250 @ 100 mph than a ZX14 @ 100 mph. Unless you are in the same class as Valentino Rossi (ok, no-one else is in his class, lol, but you know what I mean) the 250 will hang with the bigger boys in the twisties. Better to be a good rider ona lesser bike than a lesser rider on a better bike. Take a peek over on the Pashnit forum and see just how many riders that have the "cool" bikes also own the diminutive 250 as a second "have fun" bike.

I just sold a 2001 Kawasaki ZRX1200 and I'm seriously thinking about buying the '08 Ninja 250R. I think I could ride one very well in the twisties. I'll know for sure soon. TB

I already have 2 bikes, and I'm getting a ZZR600 when I get home. I'm thinking about getting the wife a 250R but I don't know if she would want to go from a 500 (Vulcan LTD) to a 250.
