Unhappy Z1000 Handling

Hi
I have a 06 Z1000 which is handling like a bag of nails, the suspenion is very soft and spongey with no feel from the front. I have had the suspension adjusted with no joy, any sudgestions?

Welcome to KF. Congrats on your ride. Now look into more suspension tuning ideas if you are that unhappy with the setup.

Set the rear up a little stiffer, then check you front shock oil. Also look for leaks around the fork seals, and the rear shock seals. If it rides that bad, there could be an oil leak that has leaked out a portion of the fluid. If it has a lot of miles on it, the shock and fork assembly's could just need rebuilding or replacing. You normally replace the rear shock, and rebuild the front forks.
It might be worth a try to just change the front fork fluid if you have no leaks. Does this bike have a lot of miles on it?

welcome to a fellow z1k owner

for your second generation z1k you might want to pursue the finding of ninja 636 forks and the rear shock from such bike, it does take some work but those who have done it have only had good things to say about it.

if you need more info and part numbers please see here and you will find more that enough information:
