Yorgo from Miami
Well, I finally got one. I've been wanting a small cc dual sport for the longest time. My new(used) 06 KLX250s is now home. It looks great, sounds great, and rides like new. The PO already had it setup the way I would want it. Big gun pipes, jetted, and a few other things added/removed.
My wife is going to go through the roof when she gets home from work. She doesn't know yet.
I've been riding for 21 years now. Learned to ride on a 84 Interceptor 750, moved up to an FJ1200, then picked up a GSXR1100 and ZX11 back in the 90's. Moved to Miami in 2001. Sold the sport bikes and got into cruisers as I was getting older and wanted a little comfort. Went through an Intruder 800, Vrod, Sportster, and currently ride a new Superglide. Excellent motorcycle. I commute exclusively on my bikes and average a bit over 2000 mile per month rain or shine. Never had a DS so I got the itch and finally I have one.
I've read a lot on the KLX250s and although it is probably underpowered I won't mind (I hope) it should get great gas mileage but will likely use it for occasional commuting and trail riding in the farm lands by my home on the weekends. Whatever. Can't wait.

Welcome to the forums man, your wife will be less mad if you buy her an XT 225 to go along with the KLX. Well it worked for me. Wait till you hit the gravel roads and trails, its the bomb man!

SO was actually relieved when I told her I got the bike. Caught me by surprise until I found out she spent $600 on drapes and crap. No wonder she didn't mind.
As far as getting her a XT225, nah!. She hardly rides with me ever. In the last 5 years she's been on maybe 4 very short rides. I wouldn't trust her riding her own bike as she's a very nervous person.
Anyhow, glad to have found this place. Looking forward to lots of reading and thanks ahead of time for answers to my noob questions I will surely have.
