i am trying to go out side the box with a 1986 Kawasaki bayou 185. I managed to short out the cdi box and cant afford a new one :( and then some how trying to rewire in a ford ignition module i fried the coil pack :mad: so now i am trying to wire the quad with the ford ignition module and an accell super coil i can get spark out of it when i try to start but after that there is no spark and the pulse generator isn't wired into the diagram i have so here is the question any one out there have any luck with this type of situation

Sounds like you shouldve just bought the new cdi in the first place haha. Now you have to buy a coil too. Im not a fan of riggin stuff. Be easier just to get the parts IMO. I personally have an 85 Bayou 185 and some of the parts are gettin hard to find for them. I need that damn glove box cover in front of the seat! haha

the question i have is has any one came across the same problem cause i cant afford a new cdi box they are like a couple hundred dollars

Nah I never tried usin diff coils and cdi boxes to make it work. You probably could find someone that has. Im no electrician by any means. I know barely enough to get me by haha

I am unable to help you out on your question either but as I tried to mention earlier, it is normally cheaper in the long run to just get the recommended part and not try to re-invent the wheel so to speak.
