Noob to this sport. Looking at purchasing a klx 250 S
 

Hi Guys
I'm new to this sport and was looking at getting a Kawasaki KLX 250 S for enduro riding. I was wondering if they are ideal for this type of riding or if a different model would suit trail riding. Any advice would be appreciative.

What are you looking to get out of it? What's your riding experience? Where and how do you want to ride? Will you have some riding friends, and if so, what are they on?

A lot of us are KLX250S fans around here singing praises of the bike. But most of us are also realistic of its limitations.

Hey Mate
I'm a beginner to this sport and a have had limited experience on bikes.
I guess I'm looking for a good agile bike for tight off road tracks.
My mate has a WR Yamaha 07 which has a alloy frame and weights about 30 kg less than a klx 250 s. What are there limitations? Are they more of a trail bike than enduro?

For a street-legal dual sport bike, the KLX is pretty agile. But 30 kg is a big difference. I and many others ride them on tight trails to slab and everything in between. If you're riding it hard, you're probably going to want to upgrade the suspension, especially if you weight much over 70 kg. If you're into modding a bike, a lot can be done to the KLX and still be priced less than a WR250. IMO, if you can find a used one at a good price, go for it. If it doesn't work for you, sell it.

Yeah I've been told they need suspension upgrades for what I'm gonna be riding. And I weigh about 85kgs. I'm looking at getting a brand new klx s 2012 road registered drive away for $6700.
