Newbie with a few questions
 

Hey im new. Ive done some searching on here so some of my questions have been answered, however, i a few questions about size. Im considering getting into the motorcycle world, but i want to do it the right way. im coming from the world of Fox Body mustangs so i obviously want something fast. However, i know that i should realistically start with a 250r.

Im fine with starting off small (i dont want to kill myself) and moving up in size down the road. And i like how the 250r's look. However, ive read a few comments on there and other sites saying that 6'3" is the tallest you can be for this bike. Im 6'5" 200lbs, is this going to work? I have an hour commute to school on the highway, so i want something that isnt going to struggle with my size/weight. In the longterm i would like to move up to a 650, but im sure most of you will say that i should avoid that as a first bike. any advice would be appreciated. im all ears.

As you have mentioned, everyone has their own opinions in the "what should be my first ride?" Mental training is first, physical aspects being second. I would also consider the used market for an EX500. I think that it would also prove to be a good starter ride and most likely cheaper on the pocket book. The 650 is a bigger and newer ride that most riders like but is still fairly tame in power and that can be managed. Just remember to spend your hard earned dollars on proper gear.
