Welcome friend. Take the class as others have said it will help you with the basics. Watch out for the idiots on the raod, I complain about it here in L.A. it must be worse in NYC.

Hey guys I'm in the market for my first sports bike. I've rode dirt bikes since I was 14. I've always liked kawasaki. I was wondering if anyone has any pointers for getting a USED biked. My parents are giving my sister my car as she got her license and told me I had to get my own car. Sucks doesn't it. I liked the zx-6r and the zx-6rr. But i would really like to hear about someone who has ridden one before. I thought about maybe the 500r but I don't if that is going to be enough power for me. Thanks guys

Don't underestimate the 500! Experienced riders are surprised and quite enjoy the power 'hidden' in these bikes. I currently own a 94 Ninja 500 and it is a great bike! It has more than enough power and is very predictable in a sense. But anyways, it is your decision and I would recommend that you choose a bike that fits you well. Good luck and even though you have been riding dirt, I'd recommend you take an MSF course.

Default thanks for the info

Hey Thanks for the info I'll look into it. I'm not buying from anyone unless they let me test ride it so I'll give the 500r.
