Hello everyone,, got a wild hair and bought a 07 KLX ( impulse buy ?) anyway I needed another bike like another hole etc. Aside from that we are going to have fun on this bike..
Got the bike from a rich guy.. 160 miles on it,, acerbis tank, taperbars, skidplate, hand guards..suspension upgrade.. so not much is needed .

I would like to ask if there is any knack for starting cold..It is sooo hard to start, seems to flood easily. I have to roast the starter to get it to start. When it does start ,it is very smooth. Runs great, also starts extremely easy once the bike is warmed up a little..
Any ideas would be much appreciated. THanks RObert

Robert, I haven't had the hard start problem, but it's talked about in the KLX250S forum. They talk about running the carb dry when you put the bike away after a ride. They also talk about rocking the bike before starting it. You should do a search there to find out more details about this.

Another new guy,
Norm

Welcome to the forums. Man I leave for 4 days and there are like 4 new moles and a few other riders. This is crazy. Glad to have you aboard. As far as the hard starts, give us some more details. If its hard to start every day, then there is something wrong. If you let the bike sit for a few days, or a week or longer you need to run the gas out if you know the bike is going to sit, and the problems are exaggerated as the temps run colder. In the winter unless you ride everyday or every other day, you better run the gas out. Just shut off the fuel like 3 blocks from your house if you know the bike is going to sit for a while like a week or longer. Then when you go to ride it just turn on the fuel, and I guarantee it will start right up. ;) Again welcome man!!!
