New to Kawasaki, New to the forum
Hi all,
As the title suggest, I'm new to the Kawasaki brand and new to the forum. I just picked up a 2006 Ninja '636' ZX-R. I've had it for less than 36 hours and I am madly in love. I've ridden on a lot of bikes in my day (I'm 27) and this is by far one of the most addicting bikes to ride.
As a kid I had a lot of 4 stroker dirt bikes (80cc, 125 etc)...moved on to sports bikes in high school -- had a Honda CBR600 F3 -- great learner bike. Took a break from riding for a while after a highside mishap and an earload from the concerned parents. My buddy picked up a 600RR Honda and that was enough to convince me to get back into the bike scene.
I've always heard great things about Kawasaki. Figured i'd give it a shot.
Below are some pictures of my new toy. It will need some basic work like getting a new rear seat (current one's plastic is burned b/c of a faulty exhaust which was burning the plastic underneath.....a few missing fairing bolts here and there, scratch on mirror, and a rear brake bracket which needs to be replaced -- a $60 ebay fix.
hope to find projectors off some car at the junkyard and throw on some HIDs....a few other tidbits here and there like sliders and new grips; paint the pegs, etc.
the bike sounds AWESOME. It handles beautifully. That's all I can say. Vids will be posted in the next few days.
I look forward to productive discussion and sharing experiences and knowledge with others.
regards,
Ali
