Hello all, I finally took my MSF course earlier this year and made the bold decision to go from 0 to 3 motorcycles immediately after 🙄 I got 85 and 86 Ninja 600Rs for a good price and I'm trying to get at least one going and street worthy. I got the carbs cleaned and put back together but it doesn't seem right. I'm guessing it's lean because it has a K&N filter and some slip-ons. Iirc, the main jets I found in the carb were 108, 105, 136, and 108. Seemed wacky to me so I scavenged the other carbs and set all jets to 108 for a clean start point. Bike will run off the tank but stumbles on acceleration and I can hear it backfiring. Need some help in finding new jets for the Keihin carbs, I'm thinking of starting around 120, maybe order 4 of each of a couple sizes around there and see how it runs. Any help is appreciated!

 

Forgot to mention I also got a 07? 250 (It's in my avatar) to ride while I try to fix up the 85. Still a noob but it feels good to be back on 2 wheels!

Did you find your correct jets by now?

 

I ordered jets from Jets R Us size 120 and 130. Going to try those when. I get the time. Going to be harder since there's now a couple feet of snow on the ground 😂

 

yeah, your jet sizing did not make sense.
