New(ish) rider :)
After using this forum the past 2 weeks to get my new bike running again, I decided I should make an account, and hopefully I can chip in to help out some newbie rider getting greasy doing work on their bikes too.
I just purchased a 2009 KLX250S after riding a 2004 KLX140L for the past 2 seasons. (I'm only 5'2" so my options are limited :(), but I can't wait to get it up and running. The poor thing was in storage for 2 years, but after using this site for help, I got it a new battery, new gas, cleaned the carb (and then pulled it out again to adjust the fuel screw later >_<), put on a new chain and a new front tire. Just need to check out the rear brakes (not working from what I can tell), and get a new oil filter and oil in her, do some seat shaving (maybe add a lowering link) and she'll be ready to go. So first off, thanks for helping me get all that done :D and I'm stoked to have found such a great forum. |
Welcome Swing.

Congrats and welcome to KF

Welcome to the forums! Tell us more about the rear brakes. Can you get the bike to skid using only the rear? Is it possible that the rotor had oil spilled on it? It might need to be bled out.
