just wanted to stop by and say that saturday i picked up an 2006 ninja zx6r. this bike is INSANE!!!! pissed i had to stop riding it. this is my first bike that i have owned but i have ridden sport bikes before. ive been being careful too. out of curiostiy what is the best break in procedure? the dealer said that for 300 keep it under 6000 rpm and then after that go ahead go higher. it has about 150 miles on it right now and being honest ive had it to 9 once, 8 a few times and have cruised around a little bit at 7. mostly stay under or right at 6 though. been nice on the tranny too. any other info let me know! thanks again!!!!

welcome to the forum... post some pics of your new bike, congrats by the way... the 636 is a great ride, i hate getting off her too.... i've had my baby 11 months and i've put 13,000 miles on her.... and she loved every mile of it, so have i... lol lol enjoy your stay... oh and your doing just fine breaking her in...

 

thanks guys!!!! so after the 300 miles i can "beat on it" persay??? not really looking to just flog it out of control ya know, but i would like to test it a little. maybe take it to redline or close to it or something. just curious to see what it can do. ill be sure to get pics up asap too. out of curiosity where is the best place to get insurance for the bike? cheapest i should say. i dont have a perfect record so i know its goin to be pricey. thanks again for the help!!

hahaha thanks guys!!!! dude, that pic is laughs!!! i've been lurkin around here for awhile doin research ya know and thats why i picked the 636 over the r6. the r6 was too expensive and just i dont know, didnt feel right i guess. my girl friend LOVES the kawi though!!! she said its actually pretty comfy back there so thats all good in the hood!!!!

 

Try liberty mututal man. I had 3 at fault acidents in the last 5 years and it turn out they dont check you driving history for motorcycle ins. onyl catch is you need to have a vehicle insured with them but they saved me money over allstate and i have better coverage. I pay 355 a year for full cov on my bike
