New Guy

Hello to everyone. Just found this forum. Most of my interests have been in the older kaws. I drag race H-2's. I have 3 of them. 2 dragbikes and 1 street. My Son just purchased a 2001 ZX9R. It's the 1st modern sportbike I've ridden! It's nothing like my old 75 Z1!! I worked for a Kawasaki shop back in the mid 70's. The newest bike I own is a 1980 Honda Goldwing, then a 78 Honda 400, 75 H-2, 74 H-2 Race only, 73 F-11, and a 72 H-2 Race only.

why is the exhaust shaped like it is on the drag bike?

All high performance 2-strokes have expansion chambers, expansion chambers are built to harness sound waves, to first suck the cylinder clean of spent gasses--and in the process, drawing fresh air/gas mixture into the chamber itself, and then stuff all the charge back into the cylinder. The diameters and length of head pipes, reversion cones, and stingers all play a role in power, power band and max rpm.

Hey BigRig your avatar reminds me of my truck'in days. I sold my trucking company back in 1990. My personal truck was a 1984 359 Pete 127 inch hood double bunk with a 3408 Cat 6 and a 4 double overdrive with 3:70's. Those were the days.
