Default New to the forums

Hey all, my name's Rob, and (yeah i filled the survey out that the Admin apparently hates) lol, but figured i'd just give an idea what i'm doing bike wise. I know everyone has their brand new bike. Or "newer". I for fun just picked up an '85 GPZ 750. Oil leaks, few problems with the chain, sprockets may need switched, but for the most part minor problems. Compression tests on the motor showed no head gasket/seals problems. compression was great actually. But yeah, older look to it, i'll grab pictures given time, glad to be part of the community though.

1. What is your first name (or middle name)? Name's Rob

2. When's your birthday (year if you want to include it)? December '87

3. What do you do for a living? I do engineering/draftsman for a laser cutting/sheet metal company.

4. Married or Single? Single

5. Favorite ice cream? choc chip cookie dough

6. Coffee or tea? Coffee....black

7. If you are old enough....what is your favorite "drink"? Haha, jack n coke. Can't get much better than that.

8. What is your favorite color? I'd say orange n black go hand n hand

9. Who is your favorite band / favorite CD?

10. What is your favorite movie? Haha, honestly Edward Scissor Hands

11. What is your favorite TV show? The Office, but if its on always watching hockey

12. Any pets, if yes, what? Got 3 dogs

13. What other hobbies are you into? As seen above, I play hockey year round.

14. What was your first bike? GPZ 750

15. Who or what inspired you to ride? About 6 years ago used to ride dirt bikes n loved it, always wanted a bike of my own, just recently bought a drunk that drains gas like its' its job. (About 10 MPG), buying a bike was a good excuse. Refused to buy new though bc i want to learn all the inside details or rebuilding an older bike.

16. How long have you been riding? 5 years, haven't in a while tho

17. Where do you live? Pennsylvania, US

Robbie, welcome to the forums! Glad to hear you're keeping classic iron on the road. Make sure your tires are either new or recent swaps; if not, check closely for ozone cracks or splits near the rims. Same goes for brake system; fresh fluid (and pads/shoes wouldn't hurt.) Older bikes are GREAT, but do require (IMHO) a complete check-up before getting on the road.
Post up pics when you can. Gear up; stay safe, and welcome again.

New tires on it already, brakes need checked but i need new sprockets on the chain (to make sure the chain isn't worn faster) oil leaks coming from the gear box but i'm pretty sure where that's coming from, just need to take it apart. Here are a few pictures, more up when i get a chance.
