New to Forum introduction
Hello All,
I hope that I am going about this correctly:
71 YO and retired. Years ago I read that you should have a strong hobby to keep you up and at it when retired, so about 15 years ago I started obtaining old motorcycles and parts for restoration projects while retired. Am now starting a rebuild/resto of my 1977 KZ1000 with very low miles (8,000) but PO let it sit outside in the PNW. I have it down to now needing to remove the chain drive sprocket to get swingarm off so as to send all for powder coating. I have a lift table etc and most tools (no specials!) to go ahead. The Kawasaki MCs I have as restoration projects are two 1973 Z1s (one Canadian and one American model), 1974 Z1A, 1977 KZ1000 and a 1980 Z1 Classic. I have quite a few parts including 2 Dorimi body sets and 2 each 4 into 4 exhausts. I have an original exhaust ( in pretty good shape!) for the KZ1000. It is red. I owned a blue one when living in Greece in 1977 etc and really liked it.
Could someone please bounce this back so I know I have actually started this off ok?
I have some rare Z1 stuff including a complete and correct 17 piece tool kit with the correct bag, an OEM Owner's Manual which I purchased still in the sealed plastic bag, two new Kawasaki OEM side covers never used, a tailpiece same, complete original chain oil pump and tank system etc and the OEM key fob.
Bye for now.
Bill
