hey im new to the forum just picked up a used 2001 zx6r, im 27 single and live in largo, FL

have one question since the previous owner decided to make the bike a street fighter, i was told that fairings from an 05 zzr600 are almost the same and will directly bolt up? is this true? i dont want to buy these and end up not fitting or looking like crap.

any help would be great

The 03-08 ZZR 600 series is a continuation of the 98-02 ZX6R line which is why it was the only sportbike still carbed. Most of the parts are interchangable but I am unsure if there will be any mounting issues with the fairings. I dont think there would be a problem but thats too many holes you gotta line up to garantee it. Maybe someone around here has done it before and can help you out, otherwise check part numbers and diagrams for any discrepancies before you buy.

Welcome to KF. There should be something in the 6r section search that may help out. But as mentioned, hit up the fiche but there will still be some number changes due to colors.
