Default msa course

Are bikes provided for just the basic course?
I called locally today, but no answer.
Thought this might be a faster way to find out

I know they provide them here in MN. And I believe small bikes also like under 250. I didn't take it before I got my license but will probably take it by the end on this year. I think it also helps on your insurance.

Oh, and welcome to the forum!

Any MSF sponsered course will provide 125-250cc bikes for the basic course. They do this to keep everyone on a standard setup for a more controlled environment as they teach. I just got done taking the course here in PA this past weekend. We used Suzuki GZ250s, Honda Nighthawk 250s, Kawasaki Eliminator 125s, and one dual sport that I forget the make and model of. In fact they won't let you use anything other then their bikes for the basic course.

For the advanced driving class they have you use your own bike so they can help you hone your skills with your bike to make you a better rider with it. With the basic course you'll learn alot that can be applied to any street bike and the test at the end is rather easy. After the test, if you pass, you get your M endorsement if you don't have it already. They also give you a card showing that you passed the MSF course which will help lower your insurance and in my case allows you legally register and ride a bike on military/federal instilations.

Most of the beginner classes won't let you bring your own bike. See if you can them to let you usea TW200 or an XT25 or a DR200., if they have them.
