Just wanted to say Hello!

Came to the site looking for some answers on dual sporters, but I'm also a slab rider. I just pick up a brand new 09 Concours a few months back and I continue to love the bike.

But - two weeks ago I had a deer t-bone me at 60 mph and it destroyed the hard saddlebag on my bike. Didn't drop the bike and I actually think the bag saved the bike from any serious damage. But it is an insurance claim and just to replace the bag is like 700.00+, thank god is comprehensive (act of god).

Well that brings me back to the dual sport quest - I want get revenge on that deer, so I'm looking for a cheap dual sporter to go trail riding in the PA mountains. I'm gonna t-bone that b@tch back... :D

I am tall at 6'6" and weigh in around 285 lbs. So from what everyone tells me 400cc or bigger. But I also want to have some fun in the dirt and dont want to throw around a KLR...so any suggestions would be great!

Thanks

P.S. If you see a deer with some black smudge marks on his head in the Que hanna highway area, please let me know - HE IS MINE!!!

Welcome to KF, sucks about the deer, if you fix it yourself you can save the insurance claim.

A 250 will move you the same as a 400, the weight wont be an issue, just buy what your comfortable with. Enjoy the ride!

hahahaha, that deer is marked!

Welcome to KF.

Honestly, I do not see a dual purpose bike in the Kawi ranks that floats my boat right now. Heck, I may even back track to the 70's and 80's to see if I could find a dual sport with 400cc's plus.

I know, just another compromise. Good luck on the findings.
