Do I need to have a drivers license for a car in order to get a motorcycle license?

 

I suggest going to your states DMV website. And I highly recommend taking the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) Course. Between these two sites you should find all the info you need to get licensed.

DMV knows all that, I dont think you have to get the car liscense first, but I'm sure it helps it go smoother, depending on how old you are... how old are you?

 

Florida requires you to take the MSF class under the age of 21 and In 2008 they are making every one take the class no matter your age. Just called DMV here in Pinellas county and you have to have a class E drivers license before you can get your motorcyle endoresment.

 

Welcome to KF! My guess would be that it depends on the laws where you live.......here you don't have to have a license for a car in order to get one for a motorcycle.
