Hi from SoCal!!!!!!!

I picked up a 95 ZX6-R. I've been riding for years. I also stunt out my F4I.

This Kawi will be my daily commuter.

First off, I'd like to thank everyone for the help they'll give me shortly.

1st issue with this bike. Major bog when I throttle hard in every gear. Especially on the freeway. I can't seem to go faster than 80mph.

Carb issues? Valve issues? Vacuum hose clogged? Fuel filter?

Bike rides fine if I am gentle on the throttle.

Any recommendations?:D

You have the wrong size 2ndary jets. I'm guessing some well-meaning individual put an aftermarket pipe on the bike. This person probably got "close enough" on the primary jets, but due to the extra effort required, didn't dial-in the 2ndary jets quite correctly.
Look at your plugs after a wide-open bog. Rich? Go down in size. Lean? Go up in size.
If that's not it, let me know. I have some other ideas, too.

[edit] Ooops; bad manners, did it again. Welcome to the forums, stunt.
Gear up, stay safe.

Yes, there's a Muzzy pipe on the bike.

I'm going to put in some work tonight. Hopefully it's an easy fix. I've never adjusted carbs before.

Dude, you cant adjust the jets, you have to replace them. The are like little hex head bolts with a small hole in them to properly meter fuel flow. If your plugs are wet, or real black, you need a smaller jet assembly. If your plugs are white, you need a bigger set of jets. Get a repair manual if you are not familiar with carburators.
And you might want to check synchronization after you get the jets worked out, but you probably should let a shop guy do that. It requires a manometer or vacuum gauge for that adjustment.

It requires a manometer or vacuum gauge for that adjustment.
Since they are $100, everyone has a kit in their tool box, ya know!

Last week, took apart the bike.

Air Filter was extremely dirty (black gunk and falling apart), replaced with UNI foam filter, Carbs were gunky and orange, carb cleaner all that. Spark plugs ran rich and were corroded, NGK replacements. Oil was dark and gunky, replaced with SYN motor oil. Oil filter has some crust in it, replaced with K&N oil filter. It was horrible,; a complete mess.

Cleaned out everything. tried to put it back together and rubber rings didn't fit anymore. So decided to order re-build kit.

Stupid dealer ordered me the wrong part. I have a ZX6r and the got me a ZX600 or something. (wasted $100) Following day, I install what parts I could from the kits. (bad idea considering I didn't know it wasn't the correct parts)

Bike run for a minute, then stopped. (DIY mechanic dream crushed!)

Finally, it's in the shop. Mechanic says the kit was wrong. (good thing I keep the old stuff)

Mechanic fixed everything and bike is running now. I also had a carb leak which put gas in my motor oil. Synthetic motor oil I just added. (wasted $45)

The bike is running, that's all that matters.

Total wasted cost: $100 re-build kit, $45 Syn motor oil, $345 labor = $ 490

All it needs now is a bath. especially a chain cleaning. Kerosene and some matches.

I'm putting speakers on my bike. Ebay: Mitzu 300 watt amp w/ tweeters w/ mp3 jack. I'm going to add some 4" speakers. I'll keep ya'll posted on that project.
