Default Hi, Noob from La

Hello KF. My name's Cliff, I just registered for the site. I'm from Pineville / Alexandria, LA. I'm just starting out on bikes, I'm getting my endorsement next week. My father has been riding bikes since he was younger than me, so I'm blessed to have an old hand in the household. I've been learning on a 2002 Kawasaki Ninja 250. I'm ready for the test other than the written portion.

I don't have a bike, yet, which makes me a NIW I guess, but in June I'll be buying a new Kawasaki KLX-250S. I will be riding 90% trails, but since we don't own a truck, dual-sports are the way to go (he owns a Suzuki DRZ-400). I plan on riding the bike to the trails and back, and to school (less than 4 miles one-way).

I already have most of my gear picked out (lid, jersey, goggles, gloves) and I'll probably use my dad's second pair of boots to start out with.

Anyways, this place looks fantastic and I can't wait to start riding!

-Cliff

I'm ordering my helmet, goggles, quick-strap, gloves, and jersey Friday 5/9... the bike will be coming the second half of June after our vacation. And by coming, I mean, I'll be buying it, and my dad will ride it home and I'll work on learning in our yard The dealer is clear accross town, and I'm not ready for heavy traffic riding yet.

I'll post up my gear when it gets in.

Thanks so much for the welcome

Well I just "bought" the bike today... went to the dealer and signed paperwork, and put a deposit on the bike (they have to locate one). Already have financing handled, as well. My gear should be here Tuesday, hopefully the bike will be here and ready then or Wednesday. Ordered a Fly Racing Trophy helmet, Answer jersey and gloves, Fox Main goggles, QuickStrap system for the goggles, and a cover. My dad has a pair of boots my size that are in decent shape... once I get a little more money I'll buy a nicer pair.

I'll be sure and post up pics of the bike next week [8D]

Nice choice, dual sport to ride on the road or on the trails. That's great that your dad's there to teach you some tricks but of course some things, no matter how much training or how many courses, you end up learning and teaching yourself, sometimes split second. Great to see that you got your gear and your ride planned out well. Can't wait to see some pics!

BTW, .... I'm baaaaack! haha.

I feel like a traitor since I am planning to trade in my Plasma blue 250 for a ... (drumroll) Katana 600 []ooooh traitor! Stone him!

In my heart I am a Kawasaki man in a Suzuki jacket hehe.
