Hi Ladies and Gents.
Firslty would like to say Hi to all. 2nd had a few questions:
I'm new to biking and I am going to do my CBT (here in the UK) very soon. Now because I am 25 I can do a Direct Access course, which lasts like a week or so and then I can take a test and ride any size bike.
- As this is going to be my first bike I don't really want a 125/250/500 etc. I just wanna go for a 600cc and keep it for as long as possible. Is this a good choice?
-I have narrowed the bikes down to a Kaw or a Yamaha R1. I think I would really love the Kaw ZX6R 2007 model. As I have no biking experience I wanted to know is this a good bike for street riding? I may just use the bike to commute to work once or twice a week and for fun (work is like 10 miles there and 10 miles back). If this is not a good bike for street riding please advice on alternatives
- I am about 5ft9/10", will the bike be comfortable for me and how heavy is it?

Cheers People.

Hey bud welcome to the forums. lots of great people here. actually i was in your exact postion. i never rode dirt bikes or nothin and last june i bought a 07 zx6r. awesome bike fun i love it i to drive it to work when i can which is also about 10 miles away and back. and also for fun. great bike. its not a bad beginner bike in my opinion. the R1 is a litre bike though so ii dont know about that. im 6'2 and i am plenty comfortable on it ive driving it may times on 4-5 hour trips and felt fine. so its a great bike and its fun it keeps up well with other bikes and is a blast. my advice is thiss. when i bought the bike i bought mine brand new no miles. so i had a break in period on it. it was no more then 4000 rpm for the first 600 miles andno more then 6500 for the next 400. so i used that break in period to get used to the bike. riding it slow and gettin comfortable with it. learnin the shifts and everything pretty much ust learning to become one with the bike so when it came time to have alittle fun with it i was alittle more used to it. it helped me alot so maybe itll help you and im sure that class will help as well. so good luck in your searching and we look forward to havin ya here
