Hey All

An extended hand to all of you here. Just bought a new ZX10R a couple of months back and its quite an upgrade from my YZF 750. Its so easy compared to the last bike. Word of caution to all you that have the Ohlins steering stabilizer attached, the bolt came loose on me and the tank got a little scratched from the thing bouncing around. Kinda scary when your not expecting it. I put some of that blue thread locker on the new bolt hopefully that will take care of it.Otherwise the bikes been brilliant except for the crappy tires that already are showing belt in the center. I dont know if 5000 miles is all these Dunlops can go before replacing.

Welcome to the forums. Yes, the recall for the steering damper has been out for some time. As far as the oem dunlops, I changedthem and the suspensionout at at the 3rd oil change, 1200 miles. Sounds like you have the 06. Congrats on the ride.

I'm surprised they haven't recalled the Dunlops, it seems that all the magazines say they're crap.

I think that the oem qualifier is ok if you are just commuting. I switched to the non oem qualifier when I redid my suspension. Worked out better for me for my roadtrips last year. hahaha, as far as recall, look at michelin!

Welcome to KF. It's a nice little town that probably won't get spoiled by the development of the cities around us!

Welcome...and I have the non-oem qualifiers and they are muh better than the old ones (fyi).

RE: Hey All

It sounds kind of strange that Dunlop would use different compounds for the same tire based upon OEM/aftermarket. I seems like OEMs on just about any new bike sucks. I know the factory dunlops on my 250 are scary motherf*ckers!

RE: Hey All

The oem is spec'd by kawi. The non oems are different. Besides the obvious sizing. In the past I preferred all of my race tires to be made in the France plant.
