Welcome. I have a 2005 ninja 500. I love it. The only thing I had to do was shave the seat down so I could reach the ground better. I love it and for a starter bike I wouldn't traid it in for any other. I prefer a new bike then a used one. Just for the fact that you never know what someone else has done to it. I have a great time ridding it. You shouldn't get board with it.

The 500 is a great first bike handles very well and with the right rider can suprise the bigger stuff in the tight twisties. But if you are a big rider over 180 pounds the light suppension is going to get a real work out e****aly 2 up. I owned 2 500's in the early 90's I loved them.
