First ride here
Having ridden over 30 years, I decided to scale back to my roots with the purchase of a "new to me" KLX250. Having this brings back memories of my first 250, a Yamaha DT1-250 from the 70's. Been riding a 2013 Tiger 800xc for sever al years and needed something lighter to get on the single track again. I am counting on you guys for some good Intel on what I need for this KLX. Got the FMF pipe, knobbies, skid plate but this new seat really sucks! Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

Welcome to KF and the KLX250.
Someone mentioned Sergent seat in another thread. Also look to Corbin. I got a Guts Racing Tall seat in medium foam, but can't say it's good for many mile. I like it for trail riding. Maybe also check out Sweet Cheeks by Cycle Analyst Sweet Cheeks | Cycle Analyst
I use it along with my Guts Tall when on longer rides.
If you're looking for more power, the FMF is good. There's some good jetting threads around here if you want to go lidless. Suspension mods may be in order if you're approaching 190+ lbs and/or riding hard. Look at the FAQs in my sig line. It's not organized or pretty, but there's some good stuff there.

Mentioning shorts...
Regular cotton underwear is the worst. I picked up a pair of Moto Skiveez adventure style and they make a long ride much more comfortable.
Another seat I've heard of lately is Seat Concepts. I don't know if they do anything for the KLX.
