So I just took a look at an 02 ninja 500R yesterday and made up my mind to buy it. I am new to bikes and can not wait to get started....I have already started planning out what I want to do with the bike as I am by no means new to motorsports. Please tell me what you think of the plans...If they are good/bad Ideas as I said I am new to bikes...

First off I want to know what all I need to check on the bike as far as doing a tune up on it. The bike has 11,000 miles on it and I want to make sure that it continues to run.

First plan I want to put a security system on it...It has to be a 2-way paging system.. Right now I think that I am going to but the 771XVR and digital tild sensor from DEI because it is a company that I trust however. I'll also end up swaping the siren out with a mini piezo siren to stay small.

I also want to get ride of the ugly from side markers and get some nice and bright LED flush mounts...

The other plans are to smoke the windscreen and get a flush mount rear fender.


Plans down the road after I have some miles under my belt will be a nice exhaust system for the bike along with a paint job which I already have planned out...BMW silver with a ligh blue graphics of some sort.... any suggestions would be great...Im from the st.louis area....


I also plann on taking a bike class to learn how to ride and of course along with saftey gear
