Be very careful if you want to remain exclusive to cars, because if you ever ride even an average naked/sportbike or supermoto/dual sport you may have an epiphany! My one street rod buddy who did a Thames panel street rod back in the 70s hasn't done a real street rod since he started riding sportbikes. The reason? He can spend less on a bike than the cost of building a car engine alone and the bike would kick the car's a$$. Heck, you can buy an 11 second bike for $3000 easy, about any 600cc + sportbike would do it. Not to mention incredible top speeds you'd never use.

I'm not knocking hot cars, I'm just pointing out reality. My friend still makes his cars look killer with rims and slamming them, but doesn't go beyond that. When he wants serious adrenaline rush he rides. Oddly enough he usually rides his Suzuki DRz400SM for the fun, in spite of having a ZX14. Another case of the fun of riding a slow bike fast. That little DRz can kick the 14 into the weeds on the corners of the tight twisting back roads we frequently ride.

Regardless, if you go in with an open mind and like the interactive nature of riding you WILL become a fan of motorcycles. Much like cars, they have gearhead appeal. But, if nothing else you may become addicted to the sheer incredible performance for money spent. It's like getting 427 Cobra performance for the price of an econo-box... and that's hard to resist. My buddy has some of the best of both worlds. He has the ZX14, DRz400SM, and a bobber 650. For cars he has a slammed Chevy diesel dually that's been seriously slammed (to pull the bike trailer), a sweet looking S10 flair side, and a late 90s Pontiac Trans Am 350 six speed manual. He hits the Goodguys Street Rod Show every year, along with a bunch of other car stuff, but also does the bike stuff too. The consumate gearhead.

I hope we can have you join us in that same love of mechanical stuff regardless of the wheel count.
