BIKE INSURANCE AND LOAN!

Hey I am new to the whole sportbike thing. I am 18 years old and I am driving a 1995 zx6e and I was wondering if anyone else can come close to that and tell me what they pay for insurance. I haven't insured my bike yet so I was looking for a little feedback. I was also looking to buy a 2004 or 2005 ninja so what are the kind of loan rates I am going to be looking at if I have like no credit? Let me know. THANX

Welcome!! Since you have no credit, you can prob qualify for a 1st time rider program, but you'll have a high interest rate, probably around the 17.9% range. It would be nice if you could get a co signer with good credit, and maybe peg the 6% range.

Insurance for you, with no credit, a financed bike with a secondary lender, they will prob make you get gap, and full coverage with comp and collision with no more than a $500 deductable, you will prob be around the $500 year range..??

I pay $138 /year for my ZX1000, but married, old, good credit, good driving record. I think the old thing helps;) lol...

What kinda new bike are you planning on getting?

Thanx for the posts. I just talked to the insurance guy for the zx6e and he said 430 a year. I also mentioned the gixxer 600 and he said it would be about 1100 a year because of a special connection.(my dad's a cop). So we will see what happens and thanx for the help.

Must be nice to have insurance that cheap. I looked into full coverage with progressive on my 06 636....they said cuz of the high ratings it got this year...it would be like 3600 a year for me. Im 25, single and have a good driving record

RE: BIKE INSURANCE AND LOAN!

A lot depends on where you live. Florida, where i live, will kill you on insurance.

I agree with evil636. 18 yrs old and new to a sportbike, $2k plus. Tha't's because the bike is a '95. If you go with a bigger newer bike, like a ZX10, Gixxer, R1, double that if not more. Makes it hard for a young person to have a bike.

Loan rate will probably be around 18%. If you or your parents are members of a credit union, you can get one around 9%.

Reason rates are so high on bikes is that they are considered a luxury, not a necessity, like a car. Boats are the same, unless it's used to make a living.

hey boys.state farm has the cheapest rates because they on;y go by cc. they do not care if it is a cruiser, sport or tourer. all the same rates depending on cc,age and record.
