    *UPDATE*

So I checked the plug, and it's not arcing. I tied the clutch, and held the metal part of the plug to the engine housing for contact with the plug wire connected, and no arc through several nice cranks. I even brushed the plug tip thoroughly with a wire brush.

I think I have found the issue, but I don't know how to proceed from here. Should I replace the plug, or is there another test to make sure I'm getting juice through the wire? Here is a pic of the spark plug up close:

    Thanks again, everyone!

    Hi All!

I am new to this site, but have had my 2007 KLX 250S since about 2011.

I recently completely failed to get it started for the first time ever.

After exhausting (no pun intended) all of the things I've ever tried that worked in the past, I have resorted to removing the fuel tank to completely drain all of the fuel out of it, but I am not sure if I have drained the float bowl (as described many times in this forum as THE fix for this issue) correctly or at all. This is my first bike, and I am somewhat novice, but am mechanically inclined and have tools. Can someone point out on this/these photo(s) where to start?

Any help at all would be much appreciated

    Thank you!
