I just bobbed my 1980 440 ltd . i run staight pipes,cut about 2/3 of the air box off so it would fit.On the first run out,about a 30 min ride it ran fine.the last couple rides 30 to 40 min i noticed what looked like smoke coming from carbs.compression on both cylinders was 135.I put baffles in to lessen the noise; also to see if it would help the bike run better. the baffles accomplished both.i am at a loss on the smoke.

i checked the valves the other day they are dead on the money. I talked with a guy and he said it was normal for it to make some rattle. My son and i have desided to bob the bike that should be fun to do with him.

i need some info on adjusting valves on a 1980 kz440 ltd its so old no one will do it for me so i will do it myself if i can get some info
