i got a 2008 kx85 last january and i was only able to ride it for about 8 hours max before this happened. it might be a 110 because it has alot of stuff done to it but not sure. my father got it for me but he is in jail now and i have no way to contact the person that sold it to him so i dont have much info about it. Anyways the issue im having is one day probably about 4 months ago i was riding it and the bike was bogging at half-full throttle but i thought it just had to warmup so i kept riding it and out of nowhere it backfired and the engine cut off, it wouldnt kick. i brought it home and the next day i tried to kick it,it kicked 1st try but it was making a weird noise im not sure how to explain it, but it isnt a ticking noise. so i just turned it off because i didnt want to potentially mess it up worse by having it running. that was a few months ago it has been in storage since then but today i got it and tried to kick it but it wont start now but when you kick it you can hear the noise. the bike still has compression. im only 14 so im not a expert at all. i really only know how to clean a carberuator, this is my first 2 stroke ive only had 4 strokes before so im kinda scared to break down the engine and start messing with stuff. any help is really appreciated

 

Honestly I’m a 13 yr old and I’ve been into my 85 a lot. They are very simple motors , just remove the head and cylinder nuts, disconnect the power valve and remove. I’d recommend pulling the motor. 3 seperate mounts and one group of 3
