kx65 questions.
 

Hello to every one.
My son has gone onto his first geared bike. Kx65 2005.
I can't fault the bike. It's the nut BUT I'm getting mixed messages about which oil to use in the gearbox. Kawasaki say use ONLY THERE OIL at a million quid a bottle. Lots of messages on google etc say to use ATF ? I've aways used ATF in my sons old bikes ktm etc with auto clutch and never had any problems and its cheap to buy so i don't mind changing it every couple of rides. By the way my son rides for fun and not racing so the bike doesn't work to hard.any thoughts or suggetion would be helpful

I noticed you've had over a hundred views & no responses, so I'll put in my two cents! :)

I'm currently using Lucas Oil 10w40 & it's been working pretty good. Not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either. I know that Kawi (like all other manu's) say to use only their manufacture specific stuff, but don't normally buy into that. For example, I personally think that the Kawi 2 stroke oil is crap that makes my kid's bike smoke like it's fogging mosquitoes. I'm using Motorex 2T at the moment as an experiment & it's 100X better.

It's really tough to try get a consensus about this stuff, I know.
