kx125/suzuki rm 125

alright i bought a 93 rm 125 and turns out the engine is messed up, the guy was running with no water in the radiator and when i put water in it and took it for a spin it just died on me. i narrowed it down to a couple thinks could b a water pump impeller seal, but it doesnt explain why my bike wont kick over, theres no gas smell whats over commin form the pipe, but when i tip the bike over gas comes out the carby overflow tube, i know for a couple years the rms and kxs were the same bikes with dif motors, im wondering how easy would it be to stick a kx engine in it. cause i can get one at a decent price. just wanted to know what your guys thoughts where on both the problem and the swap

not sure on the swap but when you kick it does the lever move or is it seazed up ?

kicks right over, no seizing. goes bur bur bur but doesnt quite kick over. spark plug looks good, good gas. but even with the choke on an wot (wide open throttle) theres no gas smell comin from the exhaust pipe. i think it might be somethin from the carb. but also the guy i bought it from ran the radiator dry. it started right up before i put water in the radiator. but i was driving it for 20 minnutes before it died. its kinda confusing which is why im thinkin of doing a motor swap, plus the guy abused the motor i think

how about the compression ? can you see any water leaking from the head ?

no water leakin from the head, and compressions good. and when i tip it gas comes from the overflow tube but i dont think any or much gas is getting through the jets. the carb is the only thing i can think of

try cleaning the carb and running a wire through the pilot jet or blow it out and make sure you can see through it. then try adjusting the float and cleaning the air filter then post back. also wouldnt hurt to remove the tank and flush it out with some new gas.

Do you think the head could be warped and allowing water inside the motor witch would cause it to not run?

i havent gotten round to cleaning the carb out cause the weather was crappy so i couldnt ride anyways, but im pretty sure the heads not warped i could take a straight edge to it later. i really think it has to do with the carb, jets mainly cause gas is getting to the carb its just not getting into the combustion chamber. once i get my taxes back im gonna get a manual and rebuild the carb and if that dont work im just gonna tear into it and replace everything

im starting to think carb and or maybe bad rings, cause i when i took of the stator cover i smelled more gas then i do in the tail pipe. so yea probably just gonna tear it down and build the whole motor. who knows what that hokey arab did to it
