2000 kx 100 won't idle
Hey guys, new to the forum, but not new to bikes or working on them for the most part...
I recently purchased a 2000 kx 100 for my son and I'm trying to get it running before Christmas. I replaced the spark plug, it had a NGK BR9ES in it and put the same back in for now till I find out how it runs. Then I removed the carb and did a thorough cleaning with carb cleaner and air, drained the tank and filled with fresh 40:1 mix (what previous owner recommended). The bike has a 120D main jet and 55 low (is that the name for this bike?) and what looks like a stock pilot.
The problem is the bike will not run without the choke on. I pulled the pilot jet again and made sure it was spotless, but when I put it back in and try to blow through it I can't. But if I pull the choke slightly I can. I pulled the choke out of the carb and sprayed cleaner through the pilot hole and everything but as soon as I put the choke back in, nothing. Is there a second hole I am missing or could the choke not be functioning properly? I have the air screw at 1 turn out, the idle screw at 2, and the needle is on the 2nd notch. If I leave the choke on the bike runs perfectly but as soon as I take it off it sputters and bogs and dies.
I know this is a common one, but all the research I have done on it tells me to clean the pilot jet or replace it.
Thanks for your help!

Well I see there has been a bunch of views but no responses. I kept at it and ended up talking to a tech at the local Honda shop. As soon as I described the problem he immediately said "slow jet" is plugged. So when I got back home, I pulled it and discovered what I thought was a smaller hole than the tip cleaner I had, was in fact a solidly plugged slow jet. Another cleaning later and the bike runs like a champ! Choke off and it starts after the second kick when it was slightly cool still, but after a few laps around the block it starts first kick and the plug is lightly brown with no excess fuel so I know it's not rich or lean. Now I know that will change when it's not 38* outside but I can deal with that when the time comes. Hope this helps someone in the future, don't get stuck on one jet!

Sorry for the delay I was on vacation. Got back and today I tried everything suggested. Screwed the pilot jet in snug, got the metal plug off the idle mix screw, took that out, sprayed air and then carb cleaner down that hole, recleaned the rest of the carb, sprayed air through everything. Put it all back together and nothing is better. Still the same issue.
I took a video of what exactly is happening. This is after about 5 minutes of warm up. I tried to get my throttle hand but missed. The throttle stays stationary, I’m not backing off it when you hear the revs drop. It idles fine but as soon as I give it gas and it gets to 2000-3000 RPM is dies. I can kind of goose the throttle and get it above 4000 and it revs up there fine.
