300R squeaky odometer - fix?

Hello friends, just bought an ‘03 300R. Love it. Squeaky odometer. Have any of you encountered this? Suggested fix?

Pull the front wheel, grease the drive. Pull the cable up at the speedo, pull the inner cable and lube it up, reinsert. Put it all back together and see if it's quiet now.
