Won't shift past 4th
I dropped my 09S a couple weeks ago on the left side bending the shift lever up and rode the bike 4 or 5 miles home unable to shift into 5th, assuming interference with the bent lever. Removed and straightened the lever but still won't shift past 4th.
What did I bend or break and whats involved to replace it? TIA, Brett |
Remove the shift star and inspect the alignment pin behind it. There have been a couple of reports of the pin shearing. In the parts diagrams, it's Ref. Number 610

the pins brake off the shift star causing a "wtf is 2/3/4/5/6 gear". happen to me twice already, both times i dumped it on the shifter side. new one is like 35 bucks on bike bandit i think. lucky you got 3rd, when i did it i was left with only first the first time and got lucky and had second the next.

Thanks for the info, I'll check the alignment pins.
