Default When to upgrade my 09 klx250s

I am new to motorcycling and just brought my new 2009 klx250s home and have 1 mile on it. I have edge tail light and turn signals, fmf q4 muffler, fmf powerbomb header, and a dynojet jet kit all ready to go on. Should I put about three hundred miles on my bike before I install these parts? Also I know that how to break in a bike is VERY controversial but I was just wondering how you other 2009 klx250s riders have broken in your bikes. I was thinking of riding it the way I am going to ride it. Thank you in advance.

Gave it about 700km of the Kawa' method and then fitted the pipe and jets etc (mod heaven.) Runs faultlessly, always has.

I installed a two brothers slip on and rejet after second oil change. I just took it easy for the first 600 miles and did not hold a constant speed. After 600 I could not keep from opening it up. 250s is a great bike congrats.

I put 100 miles on my. The first 20 were by the book, then I rode it ~6000 rpm max for the next 80.

When I reached 100 I did all the cool stuff!

Mine has ~1100 miles on it and runs great!

Have fun, it is a great little bike.

Welcome aboard Wess!!

Welcome to the club! After about 100 miles of varying the throttle and taking it easy, let er rip! After the factory oil is changed out, mod and be happy.

I decided to perform the agressive break in on my 07. I rev'd out each gear up and down for the first 20 miles and changed the oil and filter. Repeated and changed the oil and filter again at 75 miles. I then rode it like I normally would and changed the oil and filter again at 150 miles. I have 1,600 miles on it now and no issues that I'm aware of.

Fortunately for my I found the Mototune article before I rode my bike and used that way. 12,400 miles later its still running perfect.
