What should i get?
The time has come to sell my 09 250sf. Im selling it for two reasons.#1 Im moving to a different state (from Hollywood to Las Vegas) and don't really feel like going through the process of transferring all the dmv stuff to another state and dealing with fees. #2 I think im ready for a bigger bike, (im 6'2 and 200 pounds) although I still enjoy riding this bike it was my first bike I mainly got it to learn on, ive had it for a year and a half. I need something a little more powerful (the bike struggles somewhat going up steeper hills with me on it) but I don't want to sacrifice the great reliability and low maintenance this bike has. I was looking at some 450 supermotos but maintenance is very high on those. It seems like the bike with the best reliability and least maintenance is the drz400sm which I like but it bothers me that its not 6-speed. I was also looking at the wr250x, now I know its the same size engine as my current bike but it has a good amount more horsepower (more advanced engine), a 1 and 1/2 inch higher seat height and its 6 speed (I really like the light weight and quick maneuverability of the 250 and the drz is somewhat heavier and not as responsive handling according to reviews) . If it was to be a 450 or larger with reliability and low maintenance being the main concern which one would you guys recommend (I like the husky sm450r plus its 6 speed). I also might consider a dual sport becuase ill be living near the desert and a higher percentage of my riding might be off road now.

I live in Vegas and we have an ok supermoto group, about 4 guys, couple are military, we don't ride every weekend but we do ride. Jump on supermotojunkie.com and search for the las vegas thread by c.hustle. Just get a drz400 if you want relibable easy maintenance sumo, all other high powered bikes are high maintenance. My klx351 is faster than a piped and jetted drz400, just something to keep in mind. We do dirt rides too, so a dual sport isn't a bad idea, hit me up when you get here and I can show you a few places to get 'dirty' :P

First off, your registration fees in Nevada will be a lot less than CA. I'm sure you can call the Nevada DMV and find out beforehand. As far as the bike not meeting your performance needs I'd suggested doing the big bore like Matt mentioned. You'd lose more money in selling your bike then spending $500 for a BB setup.
Matt, what do you pay for registration in Nevada? Mine's due in a few weeks and it's $103.

The easiest way to your solution is the big bore. If you don't like the power of the kawa, you will hate the WR, it has the HP but no torque, to run you got to be up on the pipe all the time.
If you made your mind up to upgrade, I go with the huski/husiburg/ for more dirt or get a BMW DS.
I think that is my 3 cents.

Thanks for the responses, Durielk: im used to riding and love 2 strokes been riding 2 strokes for the last 15 years (back when I lived in nj I rode Yamaha Banshees) so I think I would enjoy the high revving nature of wr250. Speaking of WR i forgot to look at wr450f's, i like em a lot, are they good? is it easy to street legalize them?

I like the scream of a high rpm engine also. Always prefered the chevi 302 to any other bigger engine they made.
I rode a lot of smokers & they put out the power/cc. But for the dirt (with my riding skills) over 200cc, you got to love the torque & smooth application of power of a 4 stroke.

You should check out the Chistini AWD bikes. Street legal 450's. They also make a 250 & 300 2 stroke.

They make SM also.
