What air filters can fit the KLX250SF?

I tried the search but it is buggy and can't display anything (not sure if this is long term or not). What air filters can fit the KLX250SF? I've had the original for 15k miles and I guess that's long overdue. The bike is stalling when not warmed up and I think it has to do with either the fuel line/carburetor or the air filter being too dirty.

I can't seem to find any air filter specific for this bike besides OEM. If the answer includes a universal fit-style filter, what numbers do I look for in terms of fitment?

Have you checked your valve clearances? They should be checked & reset every 7,500miles.

also why not clean the filter ? its designed to be re-usable.

Hm, sorry to sound ignorant, but how do you check valve clearance? I hadn't even considered that.

As for cleaning the filter, how much benefit do I get with an aftermarket? How do I clean it? Just water and squeeze it like a sponge? Or do I need some oil or solvents?

YOu really only need to check the valve clearances once at around 6 to 8k and if they are well in spec you should be fine for another 15k or so.
You can find a ton of information using the search function, especially things like valve adjustments etc.

I clean my filters with dishwashing liquid and water. Just keep rubbing the soap in and rinsing until there's nothing left to get out. You can let it air dry or run through the dryer (if you're in a hurry).

You should read your owners manual as it details Maintenance & Adjustments intervals. If you don't have one, you can download it or the service manual in the Sticky section of this forum. How often do you change your oil & filter, spark plug, adjust cables, etc?

Do you use solvent to clean it or just dishwashing liquid? Is it necessary to oil the foam filter?

k&n air filter will be fine for a klx250sf...but, your problem seems to be exactly what happens when your valve clearance are out of spec...you should check your valve clearance and i bet you'll need to replace the valve shims...
