Water temperature sending unit (switch) threads

Does anyone know the thread size on the water temperature sending unit? I'm going to replace mine with one for the Vapor that screws into the radiator, but hate to drain the radiator to take it out and check the threads and leave it sitting for 2-3 weeks while I wait for parts. Thought someone may know.

6AM and my AC separation is SCREAMING. Got up and pulled the sensor: M10x1.25.

SOL on the Trailtech sensors...they only have M6x1.0 or M12x1.5. I'll try the local NAPA today and see if they have an adapter that will go M6x1.0 to M10x1.25.

OK, so NAPA ain't the place to go...in fact, NO ONE ANYWHERE has the adapter I need. Emailed Maryland Metrics...they came the closest.

In the mean time, did some reading on Coolant Temperature Sensor thermistors. There doesn't appear to be a standard, but they do all seem to be close in the relationship between resistance and temperature. I found that Touratec sells a CTS that will fit perfectly in the bike. For $16 I may give it a shot.

Also saw some folks on www.klr650.net who removed the CTS from the housing supplied by Trailtech and replaced their stock CTS. Going to see if the KLR uses the same size CTS. If so...problem solved.

I'm getting pretty close to my goal of a plug-and-play replacement of the stock instruments using a stock connector.
