Be Wary, Very Wary of Animals - Even Small Ones

I saw this over on another board and just wanted to show you what can happen if you lock up the front brake.

Not pretty results.

The rider was fine, however he was ATGATT, which makes a huge difference in survivability!

Yes, this is up at Deal's Gap.

WOW, glad to here the rider is OK, I've seen FAR too many accidents in my time, I'm a firefighter/emt---There is just no way to be too safe........A friend of mine just broke his collar bone from sitting on his new bike while it was OFF!!!! You can be as prepared and ready as you want BUT this crap can just happen to anyone, it's sad to say.
Unless we enter a bubble for the rest of our lives ....this is the type of things that can happen........

I couldn't help but notice the "HOT GIRLS KISSING" video up top..........Now that is some education right there for ya!!!!!!!

LOL:D---BE SAFE!!!!!!!!

That's an oldie but a good (bad) example of what happens when a deer locks up your front wheel for you. I doubt the front pads had even reached the rotor by the time he was head over heels.

that almost happened to me on my fz6. It was a racoon or something, I know I ran over its tail.

I saw a video a few months ago where a guy on a sports bike doing like 90 split a deer in half and it didn't even slow the bike down. Man I hope I never run into anything.[&:]

This may not be relevant, but I once hit a vulture at 2,500 feet. ( In an airplane). It came through the windscreen knocked off my headset and dislocated my shouler. The smell of that thing was aweful. I can't find the pictures right now, but I'll look for them tomorrow.

i know i have almost run over an already dead deer road kill..... which is scary, right around a bend.... i couldnt imagine hitting something, if it was small like a raccoon or groundhog, i dont know if i would even try to slow down, mayb just raise my arse off the seat so i dont get shot off the bike..... hope i never have to make a decision like that....
