WARNING: This may be a stupid question
I just got a new tire after 3000 miles on the stocker. The new tire I got is only 4 inches wide, while the stocker is 4.5-4.6 in. wide. Will my stock tube be just fine in this new tire? Also, sorry for the probably stupid question. I'd just hate to fark it up when asking a simple question could've saved it. Also, everything else about the new tire is the same as the stocker, depth from tread to rim (apect ratio??) etc.
Thanks, Mike |
Your stock tube should fit fine. I'm running a 3.5" wide now, not stock tube, but same size.

I run 1 size smaller tubes in my KLR. the correct tubes seem too big, get folded over when i fill them up then the tube creases and wears a hole in it. So i run one smaller so there is no folding over and creasing.

Interesting. My '06 KLR is 17/21 inch wheels. So do you run 16/20 inch tubes?

I took the opportunity to put brand new Kenda Tuff Tubes in mine when I changed the tires. I used the exact same size as stock - didn't have a problem getting either of them installed (used lots of baby powder though). |
