Warm starts difficult??
 

My 2006 seems to need a crack of the throttle even after its been driven many miles. I know this bike is cold blooded, but should i still need to choke it when warmed. THe previous owner rejetted it and I wondering if he has the wrong jet sizes in there. Do you think this could be the problem or is it the the nature of the beast. It seems to run fine so I'm not sure what to think. EWventually, going to take the carb out and have a look.

I have found these bikes a dream to start. hot or cold.
(except when left for a few weeks, with a full fuel bowl and the stock CV carb);)
(did anyone every figure that out)
Choke when cold and thats it.
Try winding the fuel screw out a bit.
Maybe turn up the idle screw a tad.
If its been tampered with, I would be tempted to check the jetting anyway.

My bike warms up so fast that its simply amazing. I pull the choke, hit the button and in less than 5 seconds I can push it in and its idling perfectly. I think you got something wrong in there. ;)

try setting your idle up to 1200-1300rpm and see how that goes.

Mine is horrible at warm-starting. Granted its summertime, 90+ degrees until 10pm. But if I crash in the woods or stop for less than 10 minutes, it will NOT start. I had to push it out of the woods two weekends ago. You might try screwing in the A/F a bit, or at least find out what jets he has put in.

I've found this bike to be VERY difficult to start. I always have to choke no matter the ambient temperatures, unless it has been running recently.

Warm starts shouldn't be a problem. Something needs adjustment. Cold starts should be as Deej said, choke to start then choke off around five seconds...

I must admit that this is a winter only bike for me.
So starting on the really hot days isn't something I encounter.
But even after a crash.
A couple of spins and she's away.

The way you phrased your question is a little confusing.
Do you need to crack the throttle to start when warmed?
I do, and thats that normal. I's what Kawi recommends in the owners manual.
If you need to choke it when hot, thats not.

Yes, if i just hit the starter, it just keep trying to start and not start unless i give it a quick twist of the throttle. Does anyone else have to do this ,or are you able to just hit the starter for a few seconds and then it starts?

Thats perfectly normal. I'm not sure why you think its difficult.

'When the engine is already warm, or on hot days, open the throttle part way instead of using the choke, to start the engine'.
