TM36 pumper duration

new TM36 installed and bike is running good now. Only question I have, what interval should I set the pumper actuator up for? I've seen from instant to 1/8th throttle and have no idea for how long the duration should be.

331 with open airbox, HMF exhaust.

Mikuni recommends 1/8th to 3/4. If you look at IDRIDR's post on his 36 cable issue, he linked to my original post on my 36 where I describe how I determined the starting point of 1/8th throttle to the stopping point of 3/4 throttle.

thats what I set it at, so I'm good. Just need this snow to disappear so I can ride it.

I set the duration for best throttle response. The two that I've done came with too much gas being squirted.

Brewster, thanks for your input.
Will you explain if your settings are different than described in these threads?

I don't know as I can't see the gas squirting into the carb. With the engine warmed up, I adjust the small hex head screw for the best throttle response off of idle with the engine in neutral.

Thanks, Brewster.

Yeah, I can't remember if my pump was too slow or too quick on the fuel delivery, but it wasn't at the 1/8th mark. I chocked up my carb in a vise with a remote fuel source to set the pump. I also found the spray nozzle wan't perfect on how it was directing the fuel spray directly on the needle. Not sure how precisely important that is, but Mikuni says it should hit the needle pretty much dead center...makes sense.

Alright. Bcak from the gave. Took the bike for a ride and its definitely too rich somewhere. Seems to be a bit flat at full throttle, so I'd imagine that's the issue.

331, stock tm36-68 with 17.5 pilot being the only change. Hmf exhaust, no air box cover.

I can't find a standard answer as to what base settings should be. I'm thinking from what I read, p4 nj with y1-60 needle in 3rd clip?

At full throttle opening, you're on the main jet.
